Daniel Moreno, born in Culiacán, Sinaloa, on July 3, 1996, is a visual artist who graduated from the Academic Unit of Visual Arts at the Autonomous University of Sinaloa in 2019, where he graduated with academic honors. From an early age, he developed a strong interest in art, both technically and conceptually, developing a painting practice centered on aesthetic and ontological inquiry.
He has held two solo exhibitions: Existencia de algo radical-subversivo (Frida Kahlo Art Gallery, Culiacán, 2020) and Objetos en objeto (La Calera Gallery, Oaxaca de Juárez, 2022), as well as participating in more than twenty group exhibitions across different states of Mexico. He was awarded a scholarship in Art Philosophy and Aesthetics in 2017, in addition to completing two postgraduate diploma programs in the same field and more than fourteen specialized courses in painting, aesthetics, and art.
He has further developed his training through independent studies and workshops, including a masterclass with Chilean artist Guillermo Lorca and a workshop with Spanish artist Antonio Castelló. He has also taught courses and workshops at the Museum of Art of Sinaloa (MASIN), with which he has collaborated on educational and artistic training programs.
Independently, he has conducted more than five specialized oil painting workshops focused on hyperrealism at his own studio in Sinaloa. He was selected as a recipient of the 2025 Sinaloa Program for the Promotion of Artistic Creation and Development (PECDA), supporting the development of his third solo exhibition.
He currently works with art curator Miguel Vives Lorenzini and has collaborated with established galleries in Oaxaca de Juárez and Mexico City, including Galería De los Cien, Galería CUATROSIE7E, Galería Arterial, Galería Sin Galería, and Galería BIALAZE. His work is held in collections in Mexico, the United States, and Turkey.
His work has been selected as “Painting of the Month” at EL MUPO Museum of Oaxacan Painters with Fragmento(October 2022), and at the Museum of Art of Sinaloa (MASIN) with Umbral in May 2024, during the museum's first presentation of the program. In 2022, his work Cerebro reptil was the most contested piece at SubastArte, where he was also selected in 2023 and 2026.
His career includes participation in art competitions, fairs, biennials, and auctions, as well as the development of philosophical essays addressing the phenomenon of art and the teaching of workshops in which he shares his painting process and techniques.
He currently serves as a Painting Professor at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Sinaloa Campus. His teaching practice also encompasses art and aesthetics, philosophy and art history, human figure drawing, color theory, illustration, and drawing.
He is currently expanding his artistic practice into tattooing, exploring the body as a new surface for artistic expression. Through this medium, he is developing a new visual, aesthetic, and conceptual language, translating his approach to drawing and painting onto the skin and exploring the possibilities of permanence, form, line, and symbolism.
